3rd Dec
Sat morning and its the Mudman duathlon, which is run 8km, ride 16km, run
8km all off road.
All was going well in the race and I was around the top 15 on the 3rd and
last lap of the bike section when my bloody chain snapped and I lost about 10
mins repairing it!! SOD IT...
Limped the bike back to transition and then set off for the run, before the
bike broke I was in front of competitor number 9 who finished 10th overall.
Finished 30th in the end which was not too bad considering the bike issue
and it was bloody tough!
Below is a link for the results, next time top 10...

1st Dec 2011
It’s Thursday which means swimming training, which helps my core strength and is helping to prevent injuries from running. Swim session was going well and for once I hit a brick wall about 3/4 through it, which was a first. Arms and legs were fine and then eventually over about 3 lengths I just ran out of energy and stopped. Not sure what caused it, mixture of not eating properly (enough carbs) and then night mountain biking the previous night!

Welcome to my blog
Welcome to my blog....
I am setting this page up for friends who are sponsoring me and would like to know what and how much training I am doing for the London 2012 marathon.
20 weeks to go (just over), so the hard training does not really start until the beginning of January, but I am putting in work now so I have a good base to build from.
I am adding any info about my training with pictures where possible that I get from races, as part of my build up to London.
As you know my time last year was 4:28:25 and my aim is to take an hour off this time which does mean a lot of hard training for the next 5 months so please dig deep and sponsor me a few quid for such a worthy charity
